About Springfield, Florida

Springfield, FL is a city in Bay County, Florida, United States, east of Panama City. The population was 8,903 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Panama CityLynn HavenPanama City Beach Metropolitan Statistical Area. Springfield was incorporated on February 12, 1935.

Unlike much of Bay County, Springfield has been mostly left out of the recent real estate boom, possibly due to the large and odoriferous chemical mill and paper plant on the city's waterfront.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 4.6 square miles (11.8 km2), of which 4.3 square miles (11.2 km2) is land and 0.23 square miles (0.6 km2) (4.88%) is water.
