Lexington, MA is a town in Middlesex County and was settled in 1642. Lexington is most famously known for being the location of “the shot heard round the world”, where the revolutionary war began in the Battle of Lexington in 1775. Lexington has incredibly deep roots in history and many of the buildings, parks and monuments still standing today are from the revolutionary era and the colonial period. Lexington also has the oldest standing war memorial in the country and also the cemetery where the bodies of those men who fought in the Battle of Lexington.  For a night on the town, you can visit Marrett Square, which has all sorts of stores and restaurants for any of your dinner or shopping needs.
